Graceling

by Kristin Cashore
Student Book Review submitted by Amy:

Katsa is a Graceling, a teenage girl with superhuman powers. She can kill with the slightest touch, and is a play thing of her uncle, the King. Until one day, she refuses to do his bidding. Now she is on the run with her uncle's guards hot on her trails, and aided by her friend Price Po, she gradually realizes that her Grace may not be killing after all...

I loved it because it is very action-packed. Apart from one inappropriate part, the story is a suspenseful, wonderful mess of tangled thoughts, realizations, true identities, and heroism. I would (and did) give 5 stars for this book!

  1. Keep an eye out for the second book in the series, Fire. It's a Bulldogs Read book.
