The Secret Life of Prince Charming is about a girl, Quinn, whose parents got divorced and she has just gotten to see her father regularly again. After his longtime girlfriend leaves him, Quinn discovers that her Dad has a disturbing secret. She decides to go on a "karmic quest" with her half sister that she hardly knew existed and her younger sister to find the truth of her Dad's past.
I loved this book because it had a lot of personal thoughts that kids, especially ones whose parents have gotten divorced, can really relate to. Deb Caletti did a good job of mixing a good story with fun-to-read girl drama. This book is not too hard to read, and definitely good for anyone who likes girl-empowering books.
Student Book Review submitted by Emma:
ReplyDeleteThe secret that Quinn has discovered is that her father has been stealing one object from every women that he's been with( and that is quite a few women). When Quinn finds out, she decides to go on a karmic mission with her older half-sister, Francis Lee, and her younger sister, Charlotte, to return all the stuff that their father has stolen.
I loved this book because this kind of thing can actually happen in real life. But in real life, a lot of the time we leave things that worry us like this and just go on. I like how the girls take control and do what they know is the right thing to do. Also, I like the details that are explained deeply throughout the whole story. Last, if you read more books by Deb Caletti, be sure to watch out for connections between the books. Even though they are not a series, there are still subtle connections.
